I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I have a question that I have been wanting to ask you regarding selling teddy bears . I hope it’s not a dumb question! My assumption is that I can’t sell a teddy bear made using your pattern – or a pattern provided that someone else has designed. Is this a correct assumption? Do I have to design my own pattern in order to sell a teddy bear? This question has just been on my mind and I would never want to do anything wrong when it comes to teddy bears!!! I have read your info on selling bears and it was very helpful – but I just wasn’t sure about the selling of bears made from patterns someone else created. Any info you can provide will be helpful- thanks so much!

That is NOT a dumb question! For the most part, you should not sell bears (and critters) made from someone else’s pattern. UNLESS – the pattern designer gives you permission to sell the bears you’ve made using their pattern.
You CAN sell bears you make from my patterns. You would just indicate on the hang tag and in the listing that it is a Teddy Bear Academy design. I do sometimes give out patterns made by other designers as they have given me permission to do so. Those patterns are strictly for personal use.
