Here is Ed’s first mohair bear – fantastic job! I love how you mixed the mohair with the reclaimed vintage tweed suit, recycled felt for the pads.

I loved reading your story about how to kind of fell into making teddy bears!
I understand how nervous one can be before starting to cut into an expensive piece of bear making fabric! I hope you really enjoy bear making. I have found it to be quite therapeutic to both make them and also to view them in the displays I make in my home.
If you have any questions, you can post the question in the forum for the class you are watching, or just post it here in the general forum: https://teddybearacademy.net/forums/forum/general/Please welcome Emma! I’m posting her introduction for her:
Hi Laura Lynn,
I am new to teddy bear making. I found a book by Sue Quinn and made a bear and rabbit out of felt based on her book and patterns. I needed cotter joints and started googling sources for them. Before that I was not aware of the interest in handmade teddy bears. I joined your site to try to get more information about the proper way to make them. I have one piece of fur I ordered from Sassy Bears and I want to make sure I know what I’m doing before cutting into that piece.
I do not plan to make and sell teddy bears, I will just make a few for myself. I have been sewing since I was 9-10 years old and have a lot of other projects to do!
Gisele I am sorry to hear about your health issues. You are in my prayers. I’m glad to hear that you are starting to feel well enough to start working on your bear again. I hope your health and energy continue to get better!
Hi Tiffany and welcome!
That is a wonderful idea! I have a few Deb Canham bears in my own collection too. Your Mom will love the bear that you make her.
The last videos have been added to this Bearpile.com tutorial.
Hi Kristie,
Welcome to Teddy Bear Academy! Wow, 8 grandkids already? That is wonderful. Wow what an age span 🙂
What a heartfelt gift you created for that poor couple. It is obvious how much they loved their memory bear.
I’m happy to have you join us to make one of a kind bears for your friends and family! I’m looking forward to seeing your bears.

Hi Everyone!
We seemed to have had some technical difficulties with our Bear Bee tonight so let’s try something else. The Bear Bee live hang out was going to be about the new class that has started in the Professional Membership: Selling on Bearpile (a website for artist teddy bears). This is a multi-video class. The first two videos are ready to view here: https://teddybearacademy.net/forums/topic/selling-bears-on-bearpile-com/Do you have any questions about selling on Bearpile so far? If you do, just reply to this email and I will record a video answering all of the questions and upload it to Teddy Bear Academy. Our next Bear Bee will be Tuesday June 16 at 8pm New York time.
June 4, 2020 at 10:55 pm in reply to: Sourcing teddy bear fabric. Hi everyone where are you sourcing your teddy fir/fa #5063Hi Natalie!
I buy most of my furs from Edinburgh Imports, CRs Crafts and Intercal. They are US suppliers but do ship internationally.
Here are some Canadian suppliers:
Hi Shani,
I am still having technical problems recording the sessions and am trying to work with tech support about it.
In this session we talked about attaching ears. There are two videos in the classroom about ears. My original videos showing how I attach ears to Marco: https://teddybearacademy.net/forums/topic/attaching-ears/
And a more recent video showing a tip on how to place the ears. It’s a trick that I came up with recently: https://teddybearacademy.net/forums/topic/trick-for-positioning-ears/.
If you have any questions about these ears videos let me know and I’ll answer 🙂
